What is the BEST Energy Drink?
YO! What is up Gym N japan fam! This week we are going to talk about everyone’s guilty pleasures: Energy drinks in a can! Whether you are a gamer, gym junkie, couch potato or just your average joe you have likely consumed one of these lil go go juices. There are so many out there so we thought we would list a few that we have tried here!
We love expressing our personal opinions on the matter of energy drinks because they can taste really nice or be absolutely trash.
For the overview of these energy drinks were are going to do it pretty simply it will be based on:
Taste: Amazing (10/10), Great (8/10), good (6/10), Trashski (less than 5)
Product look: Pretty cool, Midrange, boring
Range of flavours: Huge, Mid or not enough
Sugar free: Yes or NO
Caffeine amount per can: Very important because it’s the main point of drinking these drinks. Will be in mg per can.
And for the final touch we will give the best flavour for each.
RAZE
Oooft these are just the pinnacle of unnatural and artificial flavours, andddd I don’t mean that in a bad way! Like how can you make a sugar free drink taste so goddamn good? This heaven in a can has everything you ever want, it's sugar free, tastes amazing, looks appealing, lots of flavours and packs a punch with caffeine which is what we are here for. I (Haydon) would definitely say that this is my favourite by far! Another great bit about this is that it doesn’t have the dreaded beta alanine.. Each to their own but I hate it.
Only downfall to raze is the ease of access because it is not sold in normal shops and only in nutrition shops, online and in gym vending machines.
Taste: Amazing 10/10

Oh whoops did I scare you there with that onomatopoeia? Believe it or not it’s the name of a pretty well-known energy drink that is advertised like nothing else by every model on Instagram. Maybe it’s to make up for its lack of flavour and boring product look in comparison to RAZE.
Taste: Good

Here come a few of the basic boys when it comes to energy drinks. First cab off the rank is probably one of the easiest to access and doesn't taste too bad overall and has some semi decent sugar free options. The old joke: What are you drinking? Mother.. What do you mean you are drinking mother? Funny name and kinda made for a laugh when we were kids.
Taste: 7.5 pretty self explanatory because some flavours are meh but others are pretty good.
Product Look: Midrange not over the top with neon flashy colours
Range of flavours: Mid - just like our muscles. Could probably have more flavours but not a bad range.
Original, Original Sugar free, Passion, Epic Swell, Frosty Berry, Kiwi Sublime and Razzle Berry. There have also been many other limited flavours over the years.
Sugar free: The originals have sugar but there are sugar free variants which actually taste really good
Caffeine amount per can: 160mg

Monster
Rawrrrr a monster is attacking.. Actually dunno who thought of this name but it sounds cool so probably gets exposure that way? When we were younger we didn’t really like Monster but they have really upped their game in the past few years! With the Juiced range and some decent sugar free options. Their most recent are the Monster super fuel which we are yet to taste.
Taste: 8/10 Very good, some flavours such as the guava and mango are ELITE status
Product Look: Pretty cool - Cans look better than most with textured designs on some flavours
Range of flavours: Massive unlike our muscles. Enough to cater for everyone with their Originals, Ultra/Zero range, Juice range and Super fuel range.

Jake - Guava is probably my go to every time I have this, absolutely elite and doesn’t feel like you’re drinking your way into a heart attack
Red Bull
The world's number one energy drink… apparently. This is based on sales thankfully because we were thinking that if it was based on taste that these people voting were on drugs. And spoiler alert it doesn't give you wings so BS here.
Taste: 7/10
Product Look: 6/10
Range of flavours: 5/10
Original, Original Sugar free, Original Zero, Tropical, Coconut and Berry, Orange, Watermelon, Ruby Grapefruit. Obviously they update their edition flavours quite often and these are the current ones.
Sugar free: Yes but not worth it

BEST FLAVOUR
Haydon – Blue edition but not sure they sell them at the moment although I've seen some good things about the watermelon one, just haven’t had the chance to try it.
Jake - OG
OXYSHRED
Not really a go to drink for us, but we have had it a few times when there is nothing else available and we need that energy kick!
Taste: 6/10
Product Look: As it is done by EHP labs, the product does look pretty good
Range of flavours: Kiwi Strawberry, Mango, Passionfruit, Wild Melon, Cosmic Blast, Pink Grapefruit and Guava Paradise.
Sugar free: Yes - most are “all natural”
Caffeine amount per can: 160mg

Haydon – Passion Fruit - but honestly wasn’t that good
Jake - Mango - Only downside is that it didn’t make the mango crazy in the gym

Been around for yonks and definitely one of the better few! Don't mind the sugar free versions and other pretty decent ones.
Taste: 7/10
Product Look: Reminds you a bit of Jimmy Neutron, so unreal!

Hey hey I wanna be a Rockstar… Probably the way that this drink got its popularity? Thanks Nickelback. Well we all went through that Rockstar phase where it was just cool to be drinking one? Not sure what we were thinking because we haven't tried one in years and don't remember them actually being that nice?
Taste: 6/10
Product Look: 7/10
Range of flavours: Not enough, honestly a dying drink I swear. Buuutt on further inspection online there are shitloads? Maybe it's not as big in Australia? Dunno honestly.
Sugar free: Yes but when we tried them years ago it was trashski.
Caffeine amount per can: 160mg

Probably slightly harder to find than say monster or mother but defs pretty easy to find overall.
