Fortnite - Missing it and our thoughts on the new season - Fortnite Season 4 Chapter 2

What is up Gym n Japan! This week we have a bit of a more personal post. As some or none of you know, the new season of Fortnite just dropped and it looks fucking fire! After watching it on YouTube and Ninja stream it, we can’t deny the fact that we are missing it a lot. So we thought we would just share our thoughts on the matter, keeping this week's post nice and short.
So Haydon and I haven’t played a game of Fortnite since mid November 2022 and our post titled "THE LAST FORTNITE GAMES BEFORE CANADA".
That’s super sad to think about considering we would play it 3-4 nights a week together. It’s like a small part of me has been lost now. I knew I would be busy in Canada working, snowboarding and meeting new people. But for me it is getting close to the end of the season, so things are getting quiet and the urge to play a few cheeky games until 3am with Haydon has really started to grow on me. We both kinda miss those days of getting doo doo'd on by 12 year olds...
The New Season: Chapter 4 Season 2.
Honestly we have lost track of what season it is... We do however think that having chapters and seasons within it has been a great addition to fortnite! Back in the day, seasons went on for what seemed like years so its good to see some fresh stuff every 3 months or so! and we now in chapter 4! wow!! The new season looks really good too. There's a bunch of new weapons from even last season we didn’t get to use, there's a sick ass katana blade thing which looks awesome, and I am pretty sure the map changed a bit with a new Mega City which is bigger and cooler than titled towers. The theme for this season is a cyberpunk vibe with lots of bright colours.
We have discussed trying to play some cross continent Fortnut games, but the problem is the ping for either of us will be awful. If I join Haydon it would be terrible for me, if he joins me then it would be just as bad the other way. If anyone who reads this has any ideas on how to fix this, please help two old friends reconnect together for our love of playing Fortnite. Along with the ping issues, we also have a massive timezone issue... for Jake when this post goes live it is after midnight which makes it difficult to play evenings for Haydon. the only option is maybe on the weekends we could play during the day Aus time where its after work time for Jake.
Alright here are the key things we have seen for the new season of fortnite!
THE BATTLEPASS
As with every season of fortnite comes a sick battlepass with heaps and heaps of skins, pickaxes, emotes etc etc. Usually a battlepass is well worth purchasing if you enjoy playing the game regularly. In a battlepass if you are good at saving the vbucks you can basically bank all vbucks then purchase next seasons without buying more. The more fortnite goes on, the more customizations they get which is really cool and its now rare to see people with the same skins consistently.
*Tip - if you need to buy the battlepass and have to get Vbucks. The best way to subscribe to the fortnite crew for one month ;). This way you get added bonuses for just being a member a) free battlepass b) free skin and c) vbucks. This was is more cost effective than just buying vbucks which you will have to spend to buy the battlepass whereas this way lets you keep the vbucks you get and you get the battlepass for free :P.
THE MAP
If you haven't seen the map for the new season! Here you go! The main change to the map that we have noticed is the bottom right hand side with Mega City, Steamy Springs, Kenjutsu Crossing and Knotty Nets.
And for comparison it has changed so much since we last played!!!
EREN JAEGER
Probably the biggest thing for us being anime nerds is an Attack on Titan collaboration!! According to various sources, Eren Jaeger is due to come out on roughly 15 April 2023! if you complete aall challenges and have the battlepass we believe.
Also it would not surprise us if there is a grapple type gun which mimics the ODM gear, so keeeeen.
THE VEHICLES
As we said earlier, this season is a very cyberpunk vibe so they have added a ferw sick vehicles to get around the map! see below
THE GUNS / WEAPONS
And we arent talking about our massive guns ;)
Here are the new ones for this season and we are keen to try the Kinetic Blade.
