My Hero Academia The Movie 3: World Heroes' Mission Review!

Hey Gym N Japan Fam! This week we have some new juicy content for you all! It will be a movie review of My Hero Academia The Movie 3: World Heroes’ Mission. We decided to wait about a month after the release to give you all a chance to watch it at the movies! This movie, as the title suggests is the 3rd movie of the franchise and definitely not the last because of its popularity! It is an anime original / non canon which is probably just a story created to make money... But hey, we ain't complaining with more MHA content! At the time of writing it is rated 7.59/10 on MAL which we expect to change over the coming months with more reviews. We have honestly been so hyped about this movie since it was announced and honestly hurts that we couldn’t watch it together.. We will keep this relatively spoiler free but we may make comments about certain powers obtained or developed etc so you've been warned.

To be fair we had no idea what was going to happen in the movie and when we saw this image in the trailers we knew it was going to be a good movie!

Hmm where do I start with this? Well one thing that sets these apart from other anime movies is that it's always based straight after the season that has just finished! Honestly a game changer for anime only watchers because you get a bit of a glimpse of how each character's power has developed after the season. In this movie you get to see how much more control Deku has over his newly acquired powers with similar showings from Bakugo and Todoroki.

I had to watch this in dubbed.. YUCK but at least I didn't have to use my sharingan to watch the subtitles and fight scenes. Also I had no choice because it was the only screening I could make on the opening weekend.. I personally think that this movie was better than the 1st movie but I’d rate the 2nd movie the highest of the 3. I am not saying that this is a bad movie whatsoever but I just enjoyed movie 2 a little more with the mysterious and a little bit weird ending with the transferring of one for all. My one negative I felt with this movie was that the animation wasn't as good as the previous movie. The things I liked about this movie was the fact that Todoroki, Deku and Bakugo had their own fights to deal with and not an all in brawl against the big bad which seems to normally happen. To be fair these movies are created just to show the MC and how much stronger a teenager is than a villain who has been training or researching for longer than the MC has even existed in the world ahahah! Typical anime but we all love it so no complaining from me

This movie almost felt like canon because they are all still doing their internship with endeavor and just flows on really well and it's a pity that we won't see some of the characters in future seasons. The humor was also a highlight for me, starting with the random Egyptian character? No idea who thought of that but it was funny seeing him

make an appearance, no idea why but it just cracked me up! Next was MC Rody! Such a wholesome character who was just doing anything to provide for his siblings. Obviously there are times where I questioned his sanity but his quirk showed that he was trying to hide his feelings and would do literally anything for his siblings even if it contradicted his own feelings. There were some great moments between Rody and Deku due to his quirk which were funny and heartfelt!

Random Egyptian character 🡡

Honestly loved this movie and will probably watch it again in subbed in the coming months.

Rating: 9/10.

Unlike Haydon, I thought this was the better of the 3 movies. It had a very unique and interesting story to it, to which I did not see coming at all. I liked how the main 3 hype men, Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki had their own little cameos against powerful villains. The show was well paced I thought, being funny, slow paced, fast paced and packed with action like we want to see. Even though it was only an hour and a half or so, there was great character development leaving you feeling like we have known all the new characters for a long time.

Like Haydon said, I agree that the animation in this one just didn’t feel up to standard like some of the other movies. Yes it was good, especially when it came to the key points like the fights. But there were moments where you thought a 2 year old drew some of the figures. Apart from that I thought the story was unique and the character Rody really made that shine in this. He had a very unusual quirk, which you could kind of work out what it is if you have half a brain, but was still funny when you found out what it was. And to his credit, his weird quirk was OP enough to save the day HAHAHA!

I am sure this won’t be the last movie of the MHA franchise, and I hope it isn’t, because movies like this are so much fun to watch. Now before I forget, one of the main villains (I think the Egyptian one Haydon was talking about?) had the best bloody quirk ever, if she wasn’t a villain, she would be OP and whoop everyone’s ass! I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it yet to try and get in to watch or, or buy it once it comes out…we don’t condone watching it online…hehe

Rating: 9.5/10

And on that note we are done! Hope you enjoyed this insight!

Here's an all might meme because we barely saw him in the movie:
