The Top 3 Anime to be Watching Next Season
Let’s talk about next season’s top 3 anime we should ALL be watching weekly!
What is going on Gym n Japan Fam! Fall of 2021 in Japan is bringing some exciting new and existing shows back on the table. But with so many shows and not enough time (bullshit, there’s always time for anime), which shows should we prioritise to watch weekly on top of our never ending plan to watch list.
After becoming a veteran anime viewer and soft critique of almost all genres, myself and Haydon have realised that for most optimal enjoyment and time saving capacity, 3 shows per week to be watched weekly is the sweet spot. Any less and you feel empty for 3-4 days through the week where there is no show. 4+ shows means you’re trying to remember too much information and story, to the point where you start thinking you’re watching “That time I got reincarnated as a Goku with multiple girlfriends in an isekai: Shippuden III”. This is not what you want. So 3 shows are where it hits well. You have 2-3 days without something usually and not too much information to overload the weeb brains you have.
So without talking any more shit, here are our 3 most recommended weekly shows to watch next season/Fall (Japan).
1. Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu 2nd Season
Mushoku Tensei (Jobless Reincarnation) season 2 is number one on the list. Rightfully so, this masterpiece has everything including good animation, good fight scenes, romance, magic and definitely does not shy away when it comes to gorey and ecchi scenes! Also the comedy is standout in this! Without giving too much away, the plot for season 1 is below:
Despite being bullied, scorned, and oppressed all of his life, a thirty-four-year-old shut-in still found the resolve to attempt something heroic—only for it to end in a tragic accident. But in a twist of fate, he awakens in another world as Rudeus Greyrat, starting life again as a baby born to two loving parents. Preserving his memories and knowledge from his previous life, Rudeus quickly adapts to his new environment.

2. Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu.
Alright we admit it, we actually don’t know much about this show other than the hype that it received when it got an anime adaptation! The manga is rated very highly at 8.28 and sits 29th on the list of most popular manga.
It's Shouko Komi's first day at the prestigious Itan Private High School, and she has already risen to the status of the school's Madonna. With long black hair and a tall, graceful appearance, she captures the attention of anyone who comes across her. There's just one problem though—despite her popularity, Shouko is terrible at communicating with others.
Hitohito Tadano is your average high school boy. With his life motto of "read the situation and make sure to stay away from trouble," he quickly finds that sitting next to Shouko has made him the enemy of everyone in his class! One day, knocked out by accident, Hitohito later wakes up to the sound of Shouko's "meow." He lies that he heard nothing, causing Shouko to run away. But before she can escape, Hitohito surmises that Shouko is not able to talk to others easily—in fact, she has never been able to make a single friend. Hitohito resolves to help Shouko with her goal of making one hundred friends so that she can overcome her communication disorder.

3. Platinum End
Here's another manga with its first anime adaptation. The manga is rated only 7.01 however has a popularity of 221 on MAL so this normally means that the average watcher will love this but the critics/ nerds don't haha! Similar to Sword Art Online with low scores but really good/popular. It is looking to start on the 8th of October with a total of 24 episodes!
It is psychological so it will definitely keep us on our toes and constantly thinking, which is what we all love in an anime!
Here's the plot:
After the death of his parents, a young Mirai Kakehashi is left in the care of his abusive relatives. Since then, he has become gloomy and depressed, leading him to attempt suicide on the evening of his middle school graduation. Mirai, however, is saved by a pure white girl named Nasse who introduces herself as a guardian angel wishing to give him happiness—by granting him supernatural powers and a chance to become the new God.
In order to earn the position, he must defeat 12 other "God Candidates" within 999 days. Soon, Mirai begins a struggle to survive as a terrifying battle royale erupts between himself and the candidates looking to obtain the most power in the world.
Definitely one to watch weekly in the upcoming season and no pre knowledge needed before it starts.

Possible 4. Date A Live IV
So this one was scheduled to be released next anime season (Fall 2021) but has now been pushed back until 2022 probably because of the COVID situation affecting everything in the world.. We already wrote this segment before the announcement so why waste quality Gym N Japan material? Plus it gives you some time to watch the first part of the series before this one comes out :D
Jake hasn’t watched this (very uncultured) wouldn’t know a good harem if it hit him in the face haha! Hasn't even watched highschool DxD smh. Not a real anime nerd..
Anyway this is a must watch for me even though it's your usual MC with an OP ability that saves every woman from evil and captures their hearts in a weird yet romantic way..
Here's the plot:
There are spirits that make their way into the human world and cause massive destruction so they are hunted once they arrive. This is where the MC comes into play and obviously playing the good guy, he saves these spirits from being hunted.. The MC has the power to seal away spirits' destructive powers but only by dating them and making them fall in love with him.. Oh yeah of course every spirit is a hottie to add to his harem..
This is the fourth season so before you watch this one, make sure to watch the previous 3 seasons, movies and spinoffs.
Personally my favourite character is Kurumi #bae

Notable mentions
86 Second season: Haydon loved the first season so will definitely be watching this! Unsure if it will be weekly but I will get around it at some point. More of a binge watcher these days than a weekly guy!
The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat: Something we will be keeping an eye on! We love the idea of any kind of assassin show so if we see some hype around it we will be there! This show was created by the same creator as redo of healer so there will be no filter with some of the scenes...
