What Makes Anime SO Great?
Updated: Nov 27, 2022
What is up Gym N Japan. Have you ever been asked the real dumb question…”why do you watch anime? What Makes it so great?” Often we don’t have a direct answer, we just know it is the best shit in the world and we would much rather watch amazing animation at work versus some shit ass ReAl LiFe show with actors and shit in it. So below we are going to give you our top 5 reasons why we think anime is the best so you can tell all your friends about it.

What is one of the best feelings in the world? When you start off by yourself on this lonesome journey of watching anime. But then, you have this one friend, out of hundreds (or just 10) that finally says yeah alright I will watch some anime and actually goes through with it. Then, the greatest thing happens, they become addicted, just like you knew they would, But this one friend, finally gave anime and you a chance. Now you have an anime buddy for life.
1. Animation is limitless
Depending on the budget of the company producing the anime, what they can do and produce with anime, is so much more detailed and entertaining than any TV show you will ever watch. Examples of anime with massive budgets include the fate series and demon slayer - which have awesome animation. Typically animation is only a factor for the anime that have sick fight scenes, and the animation for dramas/ slice of life dont really matter too much…

2. Waifu
Better and nicer than any real life girl. In anime, the main female character, most of the time, becomes the nicest and sweetest person in the world. By the end of a show, you even feel like they are talking to you. They are sexy in their own anime way, often times, having huge badonka donks.

3. Storyline and Character Development
Due to the limitless, most of the time, the number of episodes, the story and character development for many anime main protagonists, are next level. This isn’t for every show, some do it poorly, but most do it very well, even in shorter 12-24 episode anime. By the end of a series you feel like you really connected with the main character, going through their trials and challenges along the way. Usually anime start as a manga so the writer has had plenty of time to craft the story to make it amazing and build the world, storyline and characters - which is then adapted into anime.

4. Time - Short 20-25 minute episodes (most of the time)
Ever go to watch your favourite TV show and go, “aw shit I have to either stop half way through this, or I have to go to bed late, miss my bus or run late.” Yeah, I've been there many times in the past. But with anime, you can start an episode and finish it in 20 minutes once you skip the intro and outro.

5. Super Powers/Isekai/Slice of Life - The Genre
Anime can turn literally any and I mean ANY genre you thought you liked or even disliked, into something of absolute beauty. I used to think watching some sports like soccer or even volleyball until recently, was boring because I couldn’t relate to the sports or characters/players in the game. God damn, anime turned me into a Volleyball lover. One show in particular, Haikyuu

6. You can read it before the anime comes out
Don't you just hate how your favourite show just ended on a massive cliff hanger?? Well guess what - it started off as a manga and it is likely that there is a lot more content for you to read. So you can get onto the shonen jump app and read ahead or buy the physical copies from your local manga store to get your fix!!! You can also appreciate the sick artwork the creator made and then can compare when they finally adapt the bits you read ahead.

As always, thank you for reading to the end. We really do appreciate any and all of the support from everyone who reads our blog. We put a lot of time and effort into it so it is appreciated.
If you could go and share it on social media or even just tell your friends about it, the more we can spread our humour and love for Gym and Japan, the better the world would be.
Until next week
